At the mountain's base, the Ammonoosuc valley is home to Bretton Woods expansive cross-country facilities, one of the largest in the east. The famous nearby Mount Washington Hotel means the family-focused ski area can double as an up-scale resort experience as well, providing an all-around ideal winter vacation.

West Mountain and Rosebrook Canyon are recently added areas for experts and upper-intermediate skiers and riders. West Mountain boasts double-diamond glades with short steep pitches and Rosebrook Canyon has a backcountry feel, with some of the most challenging gladed terrain on the mountain. Intermediates have plenty of smooth cruising options, including Herb's Secret and Crawford's Blaze. Sawyer's Swoop, Big Ben and Range View are Bretton Wood's classic cruising trails, great for strong beginners. The Learning Center quad serves first-timer slopes.
