Our Nature Nut Says:

Perched on the summit of Mount Washington, this park is a 59-acre park located on the highest peak in the Northeast and is surrounded by 750,000 acres of White Mountain National Forest below. The mountain itself has an elevation of 6,288 feet and is subject to some of the most extreme weather ever recorded. In fact, the Park has a year-round Observatory that was built for meteorologists to study the astounding weather here. The Tip Top house, built in 1853, is a hostelry that is open to guests from June to October, and the park's Visitor's Center opens annually in May. Just remember, when planning a visit to the home of "the worst weather in the world," be sure to call ahead - conditions here are known to change at the drop of a hat.
