Weather in Burlington, Stowe, Rutland, New Hampshire and Vermont

Things to do / Travel Guide

The best times to visit the New Hampshire and Vermont region are in the summer and fall. In the summer there is more of a chance of thunderstorms, while the fall is generally a dry period and features some of the most gorgeous foliage on the planet. Winter is frigid, and, while the locals are used to it, roads close on account of snow and can become dangerous quickly. On the other hand, the weather is great for skiing. Spring is also quite wet with frequent snow, but can nevertheless become somewhat warm for brief spells.

The long, cloudy winters in this region are subject to extreme cold and heavy snowfall due to strong nor'easters.
Springs feature cloudy and rainy skies and temperatures ranging from cool to warm. Summers are pleasantly warm with occasional hot and humid spells that are cut short by cool Canadian air masses from the north. Falls are fairly dry and have genuinely pleasant and sunny weather.
