Our History Buff Says:

Ozark Folk Center is known as a "living history" park, and alive it is, with American tradition. Founded with the purpose of assisting local craftsmen and musicians in preserving and maintaining their arts, this Park is the permanent home of Ozark foothills crafts guild, which was established in 1962 right before the first Arkansas Folk Festival. Today, the Folk center holds events all year long and houses one of the most impressive collections of music and folklore, containing 17,000 country, jazz, and folk recordings. Beyond the music and crafts, there is also an organic Ozark herb garden, and traditional soap, candle, and pottery-making for visitors. One of the best features of this park though, is the impromptu jam sessions of the local musicians, which take place in the summer months after the sun goes down, one of the many moments you'll spend at this park, when you can truly live history.
