Welcome to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, Minnesota, where you can explore over 1000 acres of beautiful flowers and trees!
For more than 100 years, the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum has been Minnesota's premier horticultural site, with over 5,000 plant varieties. The arboretum includes a variety of natural areas including prairie, woodlands, and marshes, and also features display gardens and a lovely Japanese garden, perfect for meditation. Of particular interest is the Dahlia Trial Garden which showcases a new selection of beautiful hybrid dahlias, some of which are recommended to the American Dahlia Society, and the Dwarf Conifer Collection and Waterfall Garden, an exotic woodsy area of creeping junipers and dwarf spruce and pine, all surrounded by hearty waterfalls, pools, and a granite walking bridge. Walk over the bridge overlooking the plants and waterfall and truly feel one with nature!
Visitors are invited to step inside the Meyers-Deats Conservatory to see the bromeliad, orchid, and cactus collections as well as the tropical houseplants. There's also quite an extensive library at the Andersen Horticultural Library with 15,000 volumes that will appeal to the serious horticulturalist, the interested observer, and to children.
The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is well equipped with roads and guests are welcome to drive through the three mile area, walk around on the meandering walking trails, or take a guided tour by tram, bus, or on foot. There's also a gift shop, art gallery, and a restaurant for when your feet need a break.
There's no end to the variety and beauty that you and your family will encounter at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, so make a day of it, come often, and enjoy yourselves!
