Come be entertained at one of the city's most popular attractions and most comprehensive arts showcases in the United States. With over 1,000 art programs per year, the Chicago Cultural Center (CCC) is a Mecca of the performing, visual and literary arts and a pride of the Windy City.
The CCC was inspired by the neo-classical style of the World's Columbian Exposition and is famous today for its spectacular stained-glass domes, one of which is the world's largest Tiffany dome. Visitors are welcome to tour the beautiful building on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The CCC, which is free of charge to the public, houses eight exhibition spaces, two concert halls, two theaters, a cabaret performing space and a dance studio, among others. The exhibitions here are always in rotation and include painting, sculpture, photography, graphics, crafts, architecture and design. The Sidney R. Yates Gallery has exhibits of contemporary artists like Miguel Navarro and Carmen Calvo, as well as music ranging from classical and jazz, to world, folk and pop.
Should you want a bite to eat, the Randolph Cafe is a great spot for a meal and a perfect rest from all the events on at the CCC.
The Chicago Cultural Center is located at 78 E. Washington Street and 77 E. Randolph Street with the nearest subway at Madison at 2 N Wabash Avenue - so get prepped for some culture and come on down!
