Anchor's away! Anchor's away? At a golf course? We'll get to that. First things first. This is a fair course for all abilities, and close enough to downtown that you can actually see the skyline from the fairways. As the name implies, water is a big theme here, and in the tradition of links-style golf, there are many deep sand bunkers. The par 3 Hole 15 is the signature hole, and as you might have guessed, is in the shape of an anchor.
$$ (Moderately Priced)Golf Course Statistics: 7,104 yards, par 72, slope 132 - designed by Dick Nugent (1995). This is a public course.
During the PGA's most recent tour stop here, Ben Crenshaw compared Harborside to Muirfield in Scotland, which has been the sight of several British Opens, including last years championship won by Erinie Els. Just as Tiger came up short in last years British Open at Muirfield, perhaps Hale Irwin yearns for the opportunity to someday return to Harborside and capture the glory that eluded him in the tall fescue mounds during his SBC Senior Open playoff loss here to Bob Gilder.
