Things to do / Travel Guide

The metro Chicago and southern Wisconsin region is the Midwest's best bet for professional sports, featuring an incredible three Major League Baseball teams, a pair of NFL teams, a couple NBA teams, and a professional hockey team to boot. There are also volleyball, horseracing, and boxing venues dotted around the region.

The “Windy City” loves sports and is home to many big-name professional sports franchises. It is also one of just three cities in the U.S. to have two Major League Baseball teams. The National League's Chicago Cubs play at Wrigley Field, while the American League's Chicago White Sox pack in the fans at U.S. Cellular Field (formerly known as Comiskey Park).
“Da' Bears” are an institution in Chicago and still play their football games at Soldier Field. The Chicago Bulls are probably among the most well-known NBA teams in the world, after Michael Jordan helped them win championship after championship (six in total) throughout the 1990s. Finally, the Chicago Blackhawks represent the city in the NHL, and can be seen playing in the United Center when the Bulls aren't in town.

Milwaukee bills itself as, “the nation's watering-hole,” but it is also host to Major League Baseball's Brewers and the NBA's Bucks. Slightly north of the region, in Green Bay, the NFL's Packers fill up Lambeau Field with some of the sport's most-die hard fans, affectionately referred to by many as “cheeseheads.”
