Golf Courses in Hawaiian Islands of Maui, Molokai and Lanai

Things to do / Travel Guide

The Maui, Molokai and Lanai region is known for its white sand beaches, resorts, and wide ranging sports and activities. Luckily for you, if you're a golf fan, you can experience all three in a single round. Here are some of your golfing options:

The Experience at Koele, designed by Greg Norman, offers a dramatic mountain course in the front nine, and a flat course through wooded ravines along the back.

You'll pay big money for the pain you'll endure at the Manele Bay Challenge Course. Then again, it's worth every penny to tee off from a cliff, send the ball over the Pacific, then land it on another cliff.

At the Wailea Golf Club Gold Course you'll play amidst lava rock outcroppings and indigenous Hawaiian grasses. Along the way you'll enjoy over 200 feet of elevation changes and savor breathtaking mountain and ocean views.

The Makena Resort Golf Course North Course offers the peace and serenity one always associates with the ideal golf experience. You'll feel the purr of the blue Pacific Ocean, and enjoy the breaching of humpback whales in season. You might even play the best golf of your life.

And the tranquility continues … Right next door, at the South Course, well-spaced tee times ensure you're spared the indignity of seeing the foursome in front of you play, or of feeling the hot breath on you neck of the group right behind. It's just you and the ball.

The Dunes at Maui Lani is windy and challenging course with - you guessed it - plenty of sand, some of it lying about at the bottom of pothole bunkers. You'll also find sloped fairways, and undulating greens.

The Kapalua Golf Club Plantation Course is a links-style course that follows the natural contours of the land. It is also the site of the PGA Tour Mercedes Championships each January.

Arnold Palmer designed the Kapalua Golf Club Bay Course which is characterized by beaches, lush terrain, and ocean vistas. The experience will take you through palm trees and hibiscus plants right down to the water.
