For those wanting to find boats to charter while on Molokai, it's best to head down to Kaunakakai Wharf. The harbor at Kaunakakai Wharf is located across the main highway from the island's main city of Kaunakakai.
If you want to take a pleasure boating trip, plan accordingly, as some seasons offer better boating conditions than others. Sailing out from the north shore of Molokai, for instance, is not recommended from October-March, when sailing conditions are rough and unpredictable. During the spring and summer seasons, from April-September, pleasure boating conditions are far more preferable.
Lanai
If you already plan on going to Lanai, why not get there by boat?! There are many boats that travel to Lanai from the other Hawaiian islands. From the town of Lahaina on Maui there is a ferry that can bring visitors to Lanai. If you're already in Lanai and feel like taking an enjoyable boat ride, go to Manele Bay, the primary harbor in Lanai City, where you can be sure to find a suitable vessel to take you.
