Expert White Water Rafting Review

Shoot the whitewater rapids of the Dead River. Challenge the 15 miles of Class II-IV rapids. Deep in the heart of Maine's timber country you'll find big waves and spectacular fall foliage that will make this a trip to remember. This section is located in Somerset County, 4 Miles south of Spencer Lake, 20 miles from Hwy 201.

Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from Early May to October, with whitewater rafting trips that can be completed in 1 day. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, and inflatable kayaks.

Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips.

Expect to See: An environment of wilderness, and mountains.
