Lost Valley in Auburn, Maine hopes to give its guests a homelike feeling of being always welcome, with a warm fire to greet them as they enter. Their modest summit of 495 feet may not be anything to write home about, but Lost Valley is dedicated to providing quality terrain and high customer service.
Open daily until 8pm most days (schedules change, and visitors should check out the actual hours with the resort before they go), Lost Trail has a lengthy season from December to mid-March. Fifteen trails wind their way down from the summit. Half of these are graded at intermediate levels, but there is an even split between beginner and advanced slopes, to keep the terrain interesting and skill appropriate. Forty-five acres are reserved for skiers and snowboarders, but there are an additional 15km of cross country trails to explore as well. Two chairlifts are provided to access all alpine trails. A small terrain park with various rails and small boxes has been designed for the snowboarding crowd.
Sign up in advance to take advantage of Lost Valley's ski and snowboarding lessons, as classes get full fast. Children must be at least 7 years old in order to participate in group lessons. There are learn to ski or snowboard lessons which include rentals, and introduction to freestyle clinics. The Lost Valley Handicapped Ski Association offers free adaptive lessons for all ages and abilities!
There are many ways to purchase a lift ticket to Lost Valley Ski area, and discounts galore on any given day. Teen Nights, Two-for Tuesdays, bring a friend day, and flex hourly tickets are just a few of these. Military and college discounts, as well as senior citizen discounts for the 65 and over crowd, are regularly available for those with proper identifications. Tickets can be bought for 2-6 hour time blocks, or for a full day on weekdays or weekends, each of which has different prices. Rentals may be taken out in package deals or rented piece-meal style so as to get exactly what is needed and nothing extra.
Enjoy the view of the slopes, or watch the falling snow, from the glass front lodge where the fire crackles in the fieldstone fireplace while the cafeteria style food fills up the belly and warms the hands and toes. Within a 20 mile radius, there are no fewer than eleven restaurants, offering everything from casual dining to intimate candle-lit dinners for two. Lodgings within the same radius include 27 campgrounds, 22 bed and breakfasts, fifteen motels/hotels, and twelve private rentals.
From historical sites to pristine, quiet views of scenery, Lost Valley and her surrounding communities provide great skiing, topped off by warm places to eat, sleep, and stay in your memories for many winters to come.

Most of Lost Valley's trails are rated easiest and intermediate, while also offering considerable challenge to expert skiers on more difficult trails.
