Moosehead Lake and Maine North Woods Adventure Travel

An adventure vacation in the Moosehead Lake area would not be the same without seeing some moose. There are 4WD and canoe moose safaris, there are early morning mountain bike trips and even by float planes. In the Maine North Woods planes landing on the water are no big deal – the lake itself is the landing strip and the pilot knows where the moose are hiding.

An adventure vacation around Moosehead Lake, may include mountain biking, hiking, canoeing and kayaking, usually from mid-May. In the winter months, a real adventure is the 160-mile snowmobile trip on Moosehead Trail, circling the lake.
