The Jonathan Fisher House is on the National Register of Historic Place and is the main location for the activities commemorating Reverend Fisher. Rev Jonathan Fisher was known as an inspirational figure, and was the first settled minister in Blue Hill in 1794. He was also a "Renaissance Man", a Harvard graduate fluent in Latin, Greek and Hebrew as well as a writer, scientist and mathematician. His ability to work with his hands as a craftsman is apparent throughout the building, much of which he built himself in 1814.
The Fisher House, in Blue Hill, Maine, displays the personal effects of Reverend Fisher. The interior shows off fine use of native Maine wood and the study faithfully recreates the atmosphere where Reverend Fisher did much of his work. The memorial is open from July 1st-September 15th every year, on Thursdays-Saturdays, from 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
