Our Shopping Expert Says:
Spend an afternoon at the other Broadway! This mall is filled with shopper's favorites, great eating and more - so pack up the family and come on down.
The Broadway Mall has a long and rich history, including a visit from Richard Nixon during the Presidential Campaign of 1960. The Mall was originally built as an open-air shopping center called Mid Island Plaza in the late 1950s, as the population of Nassau County, Long Island began to surge. Today, Broadway Mall is home to Long Island's only IKEA, along with Target, Macy's, Steve & Barry's University Sport wear, Old Navy, H&M, and over 115 specialty shops. Visitors here will have plenty of perusing to do, so be sure to set aside a whole morning or afternoon to take in all the merchandise. And if all the shopping gets your appetite roaring, grab a sandwich or salad at Panera Bread, or drop in for a bite at Johnny Rockets, Ruby Tuesdays, Chinese Gourmet or Boston Market. There are 16 eateries in all, either fast-food or sit-down, to choose from. The Broadway Mall has a mall walkers program as well as power strolling programs for mothers too. To top it off, everyone's invited to retreat to the Broadway Multiplex Cinemas for a popcorn and a great movie.
To get here from the East, take the Long Island Expressway (Route 495) to exit 41 S.
