You'll feel a world away, or several lifetimes away from the world, when you visit Old Bethpage Village Restoration. Tucked into a 200-acre valley, you'll see more than 50 historic buildings, blacksmiths pounding, cobblers cutting, tailors stitching, and farmers tending to their fields at this re-constructed, pre-Civil War village. The site was originally the Powell Farm and since the mid-1960's dozens of buildings have been moved here from other Long Island sites and authentically restored. The restoration effort included researching and portraying the lifestyles of the inhabitants of the buildings.
Old Bethpage Village Restoration is a popular family attraction with frequent public events portraying life in the mid-1800's from vintage baseball games to concerts to the late-September Long Island fair.
