Our Show & Concert Fan Says:
Since 1993, the Treasure Island Casino and Resort has been the privileged host of the spectacular and revolutionary Cirque du Soleil: Mystère. This was the first Cirque du Soleil production on The Strip and has been voted as the best production in Vegas nine times.
This unique show combines acrobatics, dance, opera, gymnastics, and comedy in a blend that you have never experienced before. Think of it as a new age circus-opera-comedy show. Complete creativity, completely unleashed.
You may just be interested in the sheer brilliance of how the performers on stage move their bodies, but there's actually a theme and storyline to Mystère. Mystère is about the origins of life, about the myths that we create to express the miracle of existence. There are characters, like the Firebird, a bird who thinks she can fly even though she can't, Deus ex Machina, the machine that keeps life moving along, Brian Le Petit, a troublemaker who runs through the audience, and Moha-Samedi, the very frustrated narrator that everyone ignores, among many other unusual and exquisitely portrayed characters.
Treasure Island (or just "the ti" opened in 1993. It was designed originally with a pirate theme to attract families with children, but in 2003 the pirate/treasure island theme was abandoned and replaced with more adult lure, including a giant hot tub and a nightclub and bar. You may recognize the ti (in its pre- and post- pirate glory) from movies like Dodgeball, Miss Congeniality, Beavis and Butthead Do America, and Knocked Up, as well as from the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and the TV show Las Vegas. In other words, if when you get to the ti you get déjà vu, it's because you've probably seen it many times on the big screen already.
Treasure Island Hotel and Casino is located on the Las Vegas Strip at 3300 Las Vegas Boulevard South. Showtimes are Sundays through Wednesday and Saturdays at 7:00pm and 9:30pm.
