Our Museum Expert Says:

Since 1990, the eight-story, 22,000 square foot Lied Discovery Children's Museum in Las Vegas has been offering hands-on exhibits in arts, science and humanities, providing hours of entertainment and fun for young ones.

The museum provides a vibrant playful learning environment, igniting a love of lifelong learning. For starters, kids can bang on a steel drum or pretend to go grocery shopping in the Discovery Store. They can build a sand dune, learn how sand can move and how you to divert a river. They can learn about desert animals or send up more rocks on Boulder Mountain. Your kids can even play on an ATM machine, play with tornado machines, explore airflow, lightning, ultraviolet rays, and even get up close with leaves. And they will just love piloting the space shuttle.

Desert Discovery is an exciting exhibit for the under 5's, designed to teach them about the desert world. Here, they will learn how to operate a hand-crank and transport system, build cactus in the construction yard until the steam whistle blows signaling the end of the work shift, and explore nocturnal desert animals.

To access the Lied Discovery Children's Museum from I-15: Exit at West Bonanza Rd. and head east until N. Las Vegas Blvd. Head north and the museum will be on your left.
