You can't miss the Plaza, the casino located right at the head of the Fremont Street Experience. The atmosphere inside the casino is also electric, with traditional downtown Las Vegas gaming offerings including 1,000 slot machines, table games, a bingo parlor and a race and sports book. Restaurants, magic shows, comedy, bars, lounges, and a great pool round out what the Plaza has to offer its guests.
The 1,000-plus-room hotel - one of downtown's biggest - offers a lot of destination for the money. The stars right now are Manetti's, family-style Italian with singing waiters; the Backstage Buffet, where you can break the fast for less than $6; and the Center Stage, which serves up gourmet American cuisine and live entertainment under a glass dome that overlooks Fremont Street. Taking over the Stage on Sundays is the Celebrity Champagne Brunch, hosted by Magnum PI's Larry Manetti and featuring guest appearances by renowned entertainers every week.
There are five bars and lounges, plus The Comedy Zone Showroom, starring a fresh batch of comics each week.
