Do you miss "the way Vegas was" back in the 40s and 50s? Step into the El Cortez Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas and you'll be taken right back to the "good old days" in a heartbeat! A landmark casino once owned by Busgy Siegel, the El Cortez's 80,000-square-foot gaming area boasts a newly remodeled race and sports book, plenty of slot machines, and a full complement of low- and medium-limit table games. Slot club members here get discounts on meals, so it sure pays to play!
Built in 1941, the historic building's Spanish-style architecture thankfully hasn't changed much over the years. The second lasting influence is Jackie Gaughan, who bought the property in 1963 and has directly overseen its value-driven mission - "give the customer a good deal and he'll come back" - ever since. Jackie's deals for his customers include 300 inexpensive rooms, low-limit tables and slots, and bargain meals at Roberta's Steakhouse.
