If you prefer to gamble in North Las Vegas, the Cannery Hotel & Casino is one of the areas newest hotspots. Opened in 2003, the Cannery presents a World War II-era factory atmosphere, with brick décor and pin-ups galore on display everywhere from the lounges to the poolside, to the gaming tables themselves. The casino's 50,000 square feet of gaming space includes a poker room, a sports book, more than 1,000 slots, plenty of roulette and video poker, and over 20 table games to enjoy.
The signature restaurant is Waverly's Steak House, a handsome room with dark wood tones and still-life paintings to give it the look of a 1940s-style plant manager's office. There's also the Cannery Row Buffet featuring all-you-can-eat New York steak on Tuesdays, Casa Cocina for Mexican and margaritas, and the patriotic, open-all-day Victory's Cafe.The Cannery also features a large indoor/outdoor entertainment and exhibit venue that accommodates up to 3,000 people, which comes in handy for concerts, festivals, motor sports exhibits and even boxing matches.
