Golf Courses in Las Vegas, Lake Mead and the Nevada desert

Things to do / Travel Guide

They say that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas - that slogan can apply to the amazing golf courses in the Las Vegas region as well - though it's more likely you'll want to get the word out on the amazing experiences you had at these amazing courses.

Won $400 at the tables? Then you can enjoy Cascata, where you'll have a caddy and what feels like your own private golf course. The course offers a giant waterfall and a river, which follows the green and flows through the clubhouse. You'll also enjoy desert-lined fairways, fast greens, and service as good as the golf.

Dragon Ridge is a tough course that's visited yearly by the Tiger Woods Foundation.
The greatest elevation changes in the Las Vegas area are at this course. You'll also find preserved natural rock outcroppings, desert washes, and strategically-placed bunkers.

Variety is the spice of life at the luxurious Rio Secco Golf Club, where you'll play from plateaus, through canyons, and in the desert. The vistas are awesome to behold, and if you're in need of a lesson, the famous Butch Harmon can help you out.

Tom Weiskopf designed the newest course at the Lake Las Vegas Resort, The Falls Golf Club. Among the features are two waterfalls and 300 feet of elevation changes.

Also on Lake Las Vegas is the Reflection Bay Course, where you'll find three waterfalls, perfectly-groomed greens, and five holes tickling the shores of the lake. It was designed by the Golden Bear, Jack Nicklaus himself.

If you win big at the casinos, you'll definitely want to spread some of that dough around, and can do so at the strip known as the Bali Hai Golf Club. Seven acres of water features, 4,000 trees, and 100,000 plants and flowers will make you feel as though you've been transported from the desert to a tropical island paradise.

The name of the course, “Bear's Best,” refers to the best holes ever designed by Jack Nicklaus: Like hole 4, which recreates Montana's Old Works #7 and features black sand. Sound like fun? It is!

According to the Robb Report, Shadow Creek Golf Club one of the top golf courses in the world. The only catch is that you can only play it if you're already staying at one of the MGM-Mirage resort hotels. If you are, you'll also have a caddy to help you navigate the water, elevations changes, and bunkers. Unless you're a really high roller though, there's probably no chance you'll get “comped” - so be prepared to shell out some dough to play this course.

The Las Vegas Paiute Resort - Nu-Wav Kaiv Snow Mountain Course features NO homes to block your view. Just open land, land, and more land. Building the course on an Indian reservation ensured the unspoiled nature of the course.

Looking to get away for the glitzy lights and neon glamour of Sin City? Take an hour's drive out of Las Vegas and you'll come across the Oasis Golf Club, where isolated canyons cradle plush green carpets of grass, in a beautiful desert environment.

Right nearby is the Wolf Creek Golf Club, featuring dramatic elevation changes winding through spectacular desert scenery. The greens and fairways ripple, and there's even a bit of water.
