Getting Around Las Vegas, Lake Mead and the Nevada desert

Things to do / Travel Guide

Las Vegas offers a wide range of transportation options. There is regularly scheduled bus service, with accessibility for handicapped users, throughout the city. Night owls can rely on the Strip/Downtown bus line, which runs 24 hours a day. When it gets too hot to pound the pavement from place to place on the Strip, there are various free shuttles and trams running during the day that connect many of the hotels to one another.

Taxi service throughout the city is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Additionally, dozens of car rental agencies offer relatively cheap rates, especially for drivers over the age of 24. If you want to travel around the city in style, go ahead and order a limousine! Limousine service can be easily arranged in configurations ranging from a luxury sedan to a super deluxe stretched model with a hot tub in the rear.

If you want to escape the Strip's traffic but still get from one hotel to another in a hurry, your best bet is to travel via the city's new monorail, which shuttles you from one end of the Strip to the other in about 15 minutes.
