The Fern Grotto is a natural amphitheater lined with ferns and other lush plant life. This was the site of Elvis Presley's movie, "Blue Hawaii" and To find Fern Grotto, you must first start at the Wailua Marina, located just off the Kuhio Highway. From there, you cruise up the Wailua River on a flat-bottom boat. Upon arrival at the lava rock grotto, known for its acoustics, expect to hear traditional Hawaiian music performed by local musicians. Tours last 40 minutes and depart every half hour.
