Our Beach Bum Says:

From the moment you step foot on Kee Beach, you'll see why it's one of Hawaii's most popular. Beautiful water, stunning scenery, and activities for all, this beach is a haven for relaxation and fun!

Located on the island of Kauai, this spectacular beach is a favorite among swimmers, snorkelers, and hikers. Parents will appreciate the clean, shallow, and calm water for their children to play in, as well as the soft sand – great for sandcastles and sunbathing. The snorkeling at Lee Beach is out of this world. Snorkelers will see hundreds of fish and sea turtles in the lively lagoon. Guests are discouraged from getting too close or touching the turtles because of potential diseases, but just looking at the turtles from a distance is a wonder! There is also a reef available offshore for divers. Swimming is also extremely pleasant at Kee Beach, but swimmers should beware of the tidepools that can push swimmers into sharp coral beds with their force.

Sick of the water? Head out for a hike towards Ha'ena where you can get a spectacular view of the Na Pali Coast. Along your walk you'll see where the Taylor Camp was located (the biggest hippie colony on Kauai) before the State of Hawaii evicted the over 100 members. Keep going and you'll encounter the ancient religious dedication site to Lohian, the lover of Pele, the volcano goddess. The hillside in general is beautiful and filled with other significant spots.

Kee Island is located at the end of Highway 560, heading east. This large beach accommodates everyone, even on its busiest days, so pack up a picnic and a towel and have a great time! P.S. Stick around for sunset – it's one of the most beautiful and colorful ones you'll ever see!
