Divers who visit Kauai have a myriad of outstanding diving opportunities. From dives along the shoreline as well as from custom built dive boats, Kauai offers an amazing undersea field of pinnacles, caves, caverns, lava ridges, and archways that were formed by molten lava rapidly cooling after making contact with the ocean.

Erosion from wind and waves over millions of years helped to create coral reefs and mile after mile of beautiful sandy beaches on Kauai. The warm tropical water is teeming with marine life, creating a virtual rainbow of colors for divers to enjoy.

The cost of diving on Kauai varies from operator to operator, but the average equipment rental cost is $25. Guided offshore dives start at $90 for a one-tank dive. Boat dives will set you back about $140 for a two-tank dive. You must take a $400 certification course to dive, but you can also take a one-tank introductory dive without certification for about $100. You can take a certification course at any reputable dive operator.
