The cuisine offered on Kauai is quite varied, with everything from fast food to top-rated haute cuisine available, usually at decent prices.
Some restaurants on Kauai offer “Hawaiian Regional Cuisine.” This cooking style expertly combines culinary elements of Japan, China, Korea, and the Philippines with tastes and flavors of Portugal, Thailand, and India, throwing in a twist of Latin American spice for good measure.
Aside from Hawaiian Regional Cuisine, Kauai's restaurants also serve other types of food. Some cafés and restaurants, in terms of atmosphere and ambience, have a Hawaiian theme, with tiki torches and wait staff dressed in colorful Hawaiian shirts. Other restaurants might be decorated with Chinese, Thai, or Mexican décor, while some bars and cafés, especially those along the beach, feature waitresses dressed in traditional hula skirts.
