Adventure Travel in Hawaiian Island of Kauai

Things to do / Travel Guide

As Kauai has so much spectacular and varied terrain, there are a few adventure travel activities to be found for the thrill seekers out there. Zip lining, kite surfing, and skydiving are just a few activities that will get your heart pumping and your adrenaline flowing.

Kite Surfing

A hybrid of windsurfing, paragliding, and wakeboarding, kite surfing is an extreme and exciting sport that takes guts, wind, the right equipment and lots of practice. The sport employs the maneuvers of surfing, the flight of paragliding, and the speed of windsurfing. Kite surfing can be found at Fuji Beach in Kapaa, in Poipu, and in Hanalei Bay. Lessons and equipment are available at schools all over the island.

Ziplining

If hooking yourself onto a steel cable suspended over deep chasms and high precipices excites you, then ziplining is for you! Soar on a zipline through the lush forest canopy high above Kauai waterfalls and rivers, attaining speeds of up to 35 miles per hour.

Skydiving

Following a 30-minute flight, skydiving enthusiasts can top off at an altitude of 10,000 feet and jump out of an airplane. This is undoubtedly the best way to get an uncluttered view of Kauai. First-time skydivers can sign on for a tandem jump with an experienced guide, while veterans can freefall to their heart's content.
Happy landings!
