Today, Atlantic City, which lies along the Jersey shore, is synonymous with ritzy hotels and high-class casinos. Atlantic City casinos offer more than a regular gambling experience. Several casinos have a theme to them and every one has top-notch entertainment and a host of dining options. A majority of the casino hotels sit on a four and a half mile-long, 60-foot-wide boardwalk.
The Casinos and resorts are split between the Boardwalk and the marina. The Boardwalk casinos are the Hilton, Tropicana, Trump Plaza, Caesars, Bally's, Resorts, the Trump Taj Mahal and the Showboat. Marina casinos are the new Borgata, the Trump Marina and Harrah's.

Bally's Wild Wild West casino has a Wild West theme, and is probably the most notable of all the casinos. Upon entering from the Boardwalk, you see an animated mountain scene with waterfalls, mines and a running stream.
The mountain rises about 20 feet and is accompanied by animatronic characters, like a "49er" panning for gold as he tells stories of the Old West alongside his companion, a trusty burro. There's also a talking vulture and a rattlesnake. Above the mountain is a dark sky, while an approaching storm lights up the mountain with lightning as thunder roars throughout the room. Across from the mountain are various storefronts, all designed in an old-West style.
Inside the gaming hall the theme continues, complete with the weathered wood of the old-West buildings, the gun shop, the general store, the undertaker, the dance hall and the saloon. In the middle of the casino is the casino cage, or, in accordance with the theme, the town bank. Even the restrooms are decorated like abandoned mine shafts. Scattered throughout the casino are 17 robots that perform in 30-minute intervals with four different action scripts. Bailey's hotel is a great place to spend the night or a few days, with 1,753 hotel rooms, 21 restaurants, six lounges, two pools, two health spas, 14 shops and many other places to eat.
