If you are interested in the native plants of the Jersey Shore and the New Jersey Pine Barrens, the Sister Mary Grace Burns Arboretum on the campus of Georgian Court University is a great place to start. The arboretum encompasses the entire university campus (155 acres) and in addition to shortleaf and pitch pines scattered throughout the grounds, the arboretum includes a Formal Garden, an Italian Garden with an Apollo fountain and urns, a Sunken Garden with a lagoon and marble fountain, and a Japanese Garden and teahouse.
