Cape May Zoo
If you're interested in zoos in the Jersey Shore region, your best bet is just a short distance south of Atlantic City at the Cape May County Park Zoo. Hosting the world series of birding each spring, you can be sure you'll see many exciting and interesting varieties of birds in this area. But that's not all. The Reptile House is home to creatures like Blue-Tongued Skinks and Leopard Tortoises, while the African Savanna exhibit features animals like the Red Ruffed Lemur and Mountain Bongo. Atlantic City Zoo
Visitors to Atlantic City looking for a zoo to entertain their kids need to drive a few minutes south to the Cape May Zoo. The zoo is quite compact and a visit to the adjacent Cape May County Park is worth a 2-3 hour break from the action of Atlantic City. Admission is free and children will enjoy the Safari Café as well as riding the Hummingbird Express Train and the Wildlife Carousel.

You could easily spend a full afternoon exploring the exhibits at Atlantic City's popular aquarium. The aquarium exhibits bring visitors through different regions of the aquatic world—Amazonia, the Indo-Pacific region, the Atlantic Ocean, and more. Eager children and adults will get up close and personal with live coral, loggerhead sea turtles, eels, seahorses, and of course, the sharks. Check ahead for feeding times—you won't want to miss that experience. And since Atlantic City is positioned on a bay, you'll find boat rides and dolphin watches just out the front door of the aquarium. Make sure you don't miss the art exhibits either, showcasing art from around the world.
