Located on the Big Island of Hawaii, and 3000 ft. in elevation, the 70-acre Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary helps supply water to agriculture, golf courses, area residences and hotels, but the beauty of the forest sanctuary lies in its amazing tropical flora and fauna. There are over 100 varieties of bamboo, and gigantic tree ferns, some of which are 30 ft. or more in height, and plenty of other native plants to observe and enjoy. Visitors can stroll through a fascinating plethora of non-indigenous plants, taking in their variety of fragrance and color, and learn about many rare and endangered species which the forest sanctuary is committed to protecting.

As you walk through the forest trail, under the canopy of 30-ft. tall trees, keep your ears open to the songs of birds, and your eyes peeled for the colorful blossoms surrounding you. Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary is home to many exotic birds, including the Hawaiian Hawk and the Honey Creeper, so to ensure you have enough time to take it all in, set aside about 3 hours to tour this awesome land of the clouds!

Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary is located fifteen minutes from Kona-Keahole Airport.
