Things to do / Travel Guide
The Big Island is larger than it might seem. Visitors should realize that the island's attractions are spread out and that public transportation is almost non-existent. As such, you must rent a car or rely on organized tours and taxis to get around.
The Big Island's roads are well-maintained, but there are very limited services on roads in remote areas. These include the Saddle Road, the Chain of the Craters Road, and SR 11 in the Ka'u District.
