A sheltered valley on the western slope of the Bighorn Mountains is the location of not one but two significant prehistoric finds. The site has been recognized widely for its outstanding petroglyphs and pictographs etched on the sandstone bluff, but made even more famous for its more recent archeological finds. Archeological digging in the area in the early 1970s uncovered thousands of artifacts. Many items including bones, hearths and storage pits were discovered, helping reconstruct the life of early man. The site is located six miles northeast of Hyattville, off Cold Springs Road.
