Train Ride on the Copper King Express
Hop aboard the Copper King Express for a three-hour scenic train ride over the 111-year old corridor of the legendary Butte, Anaconda, and Pacific Railway. The excursion train is located along Interstate 90, between Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. Passengers will enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Durant Canyon, where elk, deer and antelope roam. You'll even get to see the world's tallest smokestack along the ride. But make sure to book early; almost all seats were sold out last season!
Tubing at Montana's Grand Targhee, Snow King, and Big Sky Resorts
Vacationers will find plenty of opportunity in the Yellowstone area to take part in the lazy man's sport of tubing. It's action without effort, and it's fun for the whole family. In the winter months, ski areas have sliding parks with customized inner tubes and rope tows so you can simply slide down the slopes. Grand Targhee, Snow King, and Big Sky Resorts all offer some speed and slide tubing opportunities.

Jackson, Dubois, and West Yellowstone are base camps for these operations, which are sure to be a new degree of winter weather fun.
Thermopolis, Wyoming Hot Springs
After hiking, biking, and riding the trails of the Yellowstone area, you'll likely be aching for some rest and relaxation. A quick dip into one of the region's famous hot springs is sure to be a soothing option. Home to the world's largest mineral hot spring, a visit to Thermopolis is a must on any itinerary. Hot Springs State Park hosts the famous spot, a turquoise and green mineral-laden spring that issues 3.6 million gallons of water per day. Visitors can swim, slide, or just relax and soak year-round in the hot water, known to have healing qualities.
Another great option is the Granite Hot Springs swimming pool. It's open year round, though only accessible by snowmobile, skies, or snowshoes in the winter. The spring is located in Teton County, Wyoming in the Gros Ventre Mountain Range. A US Forest Service campground is located just a mile away, and the Wind River and Wyoming Mountain ranges can be spied in the distance.
Wyoming Llama or Goat Trip
For backcountry enthusiasts who love camping, climbing, hiking, or just exploring the trails, renting a llama or goat to carry their load is definitely a worthwhile option. Llama-outfitted trips or llama rentals are a great way to explore the region without having to carry a heavy burden on your back. They are low-maintenance and charming animals, and can carry about 65-70 pounds each. Lander Llama Company in Lander, Wyoming offers great guides and adorable llamas. Goats can carry a bit less – about 45 pounds of gear – but are also a fun option and great for the whole family. Companies provide multi-day family trips that combine hiking, camping, fishing, and climbing – with the beast bearing your burden the whole time.
