If you're looking for a little fun in the sand in the summertime, but don't want to go to the beach, then head to the Atlanta neighborhood of Atlantic Station for the AVP Atlanta Open. Held in June or July, the competition stretches over four days, from qualifying on Thursday until the finals on Sunday. Thursday's admission is free, while Friday and Saturday have both day and night sessions, with 8:00-6:00 and 7:30-10:00 options on Friday and 10:00-5:00 and 7:30-10:00 games played on Saturday. Sunday's play begins at 9:30, and the men's finals getting underway at 2:30, with the women's final following.
Tickets are priced for general admission or courtside seats, with student or youth rates available. Full session packages are also available. Mass transportation is available via a shuttle that runs to the Arts Center subway station. The Peachtree 23 bus also runs to Atlantic Station.
