Have you ever seen a mall expand before your eyes? Then make sure the mall in Lithonia is on your list during your next vacation! This mall seems to get bigger and better by the second as more stores, entertainment venues and restaurants open for business. If you want it, they probably have it!
If you happen to be in the greater Atlanta region in the autumn, make sure you stop by The Mall at Stonecrest for the Annual Stonecrest Scarecrow Festival and Competition, complete with pumpkin decorating and a farmer's market. In addition, try to experience something you don't get to see everyday: an exhibition of homemade scarecrows - all with their own names of course - and you get to vote on your favorite!
The Mall at Stonecrest has other family-friendly features, like the Build-a-Bear workshop and story times offered at the mall's Borders Bookstore, that make it a perfect way for the family to spend the day together. There are author signings and musical performances frequently at Borders, as well as other entertainment opportunities at other locations within the mall. Also, check out the large AMC Theatres 14 for movie choices for the whole family.
This mall has five anchor stores - Macy's, Dillard's, Parisian, JCPenney and Sears - as well as over 120 retail and specialty shops. Some specific draws include Ann Taylor Loft, Aveda, and As Seen on TV. And if your belly starts to call out to you while shopping, take a break at one of the mall's many eateries such as Great Steak & Potato, Johnny Rockets and Great Wraps. Marble Slab Creamery is also definitely worth a stop. Much of the food is in a beautiful new indoor/outdoor plaza.
The Mall at Stonecrest is located on the south side of Atlanta, in Lithonia. Take I-20 and get off at exits Evans Mill Road, Turner Hill Road, or Sigman Road. The mall is on Turner Hill Road. You can take the MARTA bus service from Indian Creek Station (route #116-Redan), leaving every 15 minutes from 6:00 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.

The Mall at Stonecrest is a large, multi-facility shopping center in Atlanta, Georgia with a two-level "traditional mall" at its heart. Satellite facilities include chain retailers such as Target and Best Buy restaurants and fast food joints along the lines of Olive Garden and Hardee's, and smaller retailers typically found in strip malls. The mall is anchored by Parisian, Sears, Macy's (former Rich's), JC Penney, and Dillard's.
However, the main facility is where all the action is. It includes department stores, bookstores, electronic media outlets, clothing stores, toy stores, a movie theater, and a food court; in short, typical American mall fare.
