Things to do / Travel Guide

Address:Palms County Park, South Carolina

Our Beach Bum Says:

Though it was originally opened as a recreational area for private beach homes in the area, today, the Isle of Palms Beach offers sunny, semi-tropical beaches and marsh creeks, with a laid back atmosphere that is open for all to enjoy, and holds charm for all who visit. With 600 feet of ocean frontage, you'll have plenty of space to enjoy volleyball or bodysurfing, or even shrimping or crabbing. The Park has boardwalks to stroll and plenty of play areas for the kids, as well as amenities such as restrooms, outdoor showers, and lifeguards that are on duty throughout the summer season, all of which will make your stay that much more comfy.

A great way to take in all of the beauty here is to explore Isle of Palms by bike, which is a true pleasure considering its flat terrain and wide beaches. More serious cyclists will love the 2-mile Isle of Palms Connector, a bridge and bikeway that crosses the marshes and the Intracoastal Waterway to the Mount Pleasant side. Boating enthusiasts will also find fulfillment at Isle of Palms and can choose from kayaking, sailing, canoeing, and even harbor cruising.

If fishing is more your thing, why not try and catch something to eat for dinner in any of the many creeks, rivers, and shelter coastal bays, which are overflowing with trout, flounder, bass and tarpon. True fishing fanatics should head offshore for catches of tuna, dolphin, and blue marlin, to name just a few.
