Our Sports Superfan Says:

A county fair out West wouldn't feel like an authentic slice of Americana without some good ol' bronco busting. That's exactly what you'll get plenty of at the annual Navajo Nation Fair. With three different rodeos during the weeklong event, seven decades of fans have now been entertained with some of the great action this fair has seen since its inception.

The Navajo Nation Fair is held in early September, and has three different classes of rodeo – Indian Rodeo, Open Indian Junior Rodeo, and Open Indian Masters Rodeo. Tickets to the rodeo are sold separately from tickets to the fair.

Inaugurated in 1938, the Navajo Nation Fair's proceeds go to benefiting the Navajo people. The fair is located in Window Rock, Arizona, which is in the northeast corner of the state. It is the seat of government for the Navajo Nation, the country's largest Native American tribe. Please note, when planning your visit, that the Nation observes Daylight Saving Time, despite the fact that the rest of Arizona does not.
