Ask any local and they'll surely tell you that the Delaware Water Gap is the perfect escape from the Philly, New York, or Jersey suburbs, especially in the summer when you can easily slip right into the water. A leisurely raft ride down the river (note the word "leisurely" - there is no whitewater rafting here) or just about any water activity, including scuba diving and snorkeling, is extremely popular in the park. The recreation area also boasts several cultural and historic sites including Millbrook Village. Take a peaceful hike through the scenic forests and ancient mountains towards the sparkling Silverthread or Dingmans Falls. Visitors also enjoy horseback riding, biking, climbing, camping, and picnicking along the river.
