Our Botanical Gardens Expert Says:

Welcome to the University of Pennsylvania's spectacular Morris Arboretum, where nature and science meet colors and beauty for an amazing botanical experience! Located in Philadelphia, the Morris Arboretum educates and showcases some of our nations oldest, tallest, and most majestic of plant and tree life. So bring binoculars, some walking shoes, and maybe a good friend or a good book and make a day out of wandering through some of the East Coast's magical wonders!

Explore 92 acres of trees and flowers from around the world, with a special focus on an Asian collection. The Japanese Overlook is a great place to wander around, with its zigzag paths through mature Japanese maples, guests will feel like they've been transported off to the Orient. When you "return" to North America, be sure to stop by Magnolia Slope, a beautiful and fragrant magnolia collection, or the Herb Garden and neighboring Rose Garden—more treats for your senses! There are also sculptures, meditative waterfalls, a swan pond, and winding streams that dot the landscape and induce a calm tranquility.

Events are frequent and fun at the Morris Arboretum. Join friends and families during the weekly summer Picnics in the Garden gatherings, come for an art exhibit, or sign up for one of the various children's activities, like birdfeeder building!

Before you leave this horticultural wonderland, make sure you visit Bruno's Café and the arboretum gift shop—you don't want to go home without a garden inspired gift for your home, do you? Have fun!
