Things to do / Travel Guide
The “City of Brotherly Love” also loves sports, with all four major professional sports represented. The Wachovia Center is host to both the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL's Flyers. Philadelphia sports fans eagerly flock to Lincoln Financial Field to follow their beloved football team, the Eagles, and local residents. Philadelphians are especially proud of their Phillies, Major League Baseball's longest-standing team in the same location. The Phillies have been playing baseball in the city for over 120 years and now call Citizens Bank Park home.
In the Pocono Mountains of eastern Pennsylvania lies the unusual, triangular Pocono Raceway at Long Pond. Two NASCAR Nextel Cup races, the Pocono 500 and the Pennsylvania 500, are hosted annually at the super-speedway known as the Pocono Raceway. For those who like horsepower but without all the exhaust, eastern Pennsylvania is also host to two great horse tracks: Pocono Downs, near Wilkes-Barre, and Philadelphia Park.
