The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher has been upgraded, and now focuses on life not normally found in the state's waters. Four spectacular exhibits includes fishes, reptiles, and mollusks from around the earth. Discover venomous sea snakes from the tropical Pacific, fluorescent cuttlefish from the Red Sea, and grotesquely, beautiful Indo-Pacific lionfish and native scorpion fish.

The Aquarium offers a wide variety of free programs and activities year-round. Daily programs include marine life videos, live animal programs, audience participation games, demonstrations and more. Live animal programs in the Aquarium auditorium may feature alligators, sea turtles or snakes. Fish in selected tanks are fed daily.
