Colonial National Historical Park, near Williamsburg, Virginia, is a site consisting of several other key colonial sites including historic Yorktown and Jamestown—two of the first spots that English colonialists settled. Come see where U.S. history began!
Encompassing most of Jamestown Island, Colonial National Historical Park has a 23 mile parkway which connects the great colonial settlements of Yorktown (the first permanent English settlement and the scene of the culminating battle of the American Revolution in 1781) and Cape Henry Memorial in Jamestown (which marks the approximate site of the first landing of Jamestown's colonists in 1607) to the closest city (and also historic colonial town) of Williamsburg. The Visitors Center has a great orientation film and visitors can see the Pocahontas Statue, the ruins of a church tower and the footprint of the 1607 James Fort, along with an archeological museum. Driving tours of Jamestown Island, Yorktown Battlefield and allied encampment sites, as well as the walking tour of the village of Yorktown require a minimum of 45 minutes to an hour each; scheduled ranger-guided tours are typically available as well. Do allow a minimum of two hours at either Yorktown or Jamestown to see the visitor center, orientation film and key historic sites both locations.

Henry, and then an immediate right that will bring you to the Colonial Parkway. Make a right on the Parkway and take it to Jamestown! If you'd like to go to Yorktown first, get off of I-64 at exit 242B (Route 199 east). Just follow the signs for the Colonial Parkway, take it to the end, and welcome to Yorktown!
