Our Beach Bum Says:

A trip to Ocean City Beach can be summed up in one phrase: classic beach fun for everyone. With warm and inviting weather, white sand beaches, a famous boardwalk that never sleeps, and fantastic shopping, you can't help but enjoy yourself here. There's plenty to do in the summers, from swimming, surfing, and boogie boarding, to surf fishing, kite flying, and sand-castle building. You're sure to find something that excites you! Those seeking some R&R, can just kick back and watch the waves roll in and out, or take a leisurely stroll on a nature trail. All through the year, there are charter boats available to take anglers fishing for blue marlin, tuna, wahoo, shark and, of course, Maryland's famous blue crabs. Those who prefer more activity on the water can choose from jet skiing, water skiing, parasailing and windsurfing, or rent a sailboat or pontoon boat and glide along the bay.

When you're ready for a break from the sand and surf, grab the kids and head straight for the amusement parks, arcades, and miniature golf courses. If you're itching to do some shopping, there are two enclosed malls and a new Outlet shopping center where you can pick up gifts to bring your friends back home. There are movie theaters for rainy days and go-kart tracks, as well as nine award-winning golf courses surrounded by wetlands and marsh, all in the vicinity.

If you're visiting in the winter, you won't want to miss Ocean City's annual Winterfest of Lights Celebration, where you can enjoy hundreds of lighted displays, consisting of more than 750,000 lights. You'll also enjoy unique sights here such as Santa hooking a marlin, Surfing Santa, and even an animated "Jaws" swimming across the water.

Of course a long day on the beach tends to stir up the appetite. Luckily, Ocean City has some fine dining, as well as nightlife. You'll find everything from local seafood specialties to pizza and world-famous french fries and funnel cake.
