Things to do / Travel Guide
The winters in eastern North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland are relatively mild with light snowfalls. This is also the cloudiest season of the year for this region. With spring comes warm, sunny days, with colorful flowers in bloom in all three states. There's also the occasional storm with light rain common as well. As the region's summers are hot and humid, the beaches are a popular getaway. There are, however, occasional coastal storms. Thunderstorms quickly diminish in frequency in the fall, and warm to mild autumns bring the finest weather.
Unquestionably, the best season to visit the region weather-wise is the fall. With little precipitation and still-warm temperatures, it's a pleasure to travel through eastern North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland after the humidity of the summer months dies down.
