This zoo has recreated an African savannah which it calls Predator Ridge, and in it you'll see predators like lions and hyenas. There's a Kenyan preserve as well, where you'll observe termite mounds dispersing insects for local mongoose. In all, the zoo presents over 700 species, including rare, exotic animals like king cobras, black rhinos, and coral reef fish.

It all began with a special gift to the mayor of Denver, a black bear named Billy Bryan. Today, Denver Zoo is home to 4,000 animals representing over 750 species and is one of the most popular zoos in the United States. With an exciting 15-20 year master plan in place, the 21st century will see Denver Zoo transformed into an exciting conservation center that will continue to further the evolution of superb zoo exhibitory. Visitors can view nearly 4,000 different animals, representing over 700 species. That means a rare look at exotic animals like amur leopards, king cobras, black rhinos, coral reef fish, elephants, zebras, vampire bats, gorillas and more.
