Our Ski Specialist Says:

Thanks to its gentle terrain and a fantastic kids and learning program, Solvista Basin is a top family oriented ski area and is well-qualified for the position. In fact, Solvista itself says it is a "ski area for those fueled by hot cocoa, not by adrenaline." So, while there may not be many blood-pumping, heart-stopping trails, your kids also won't get knocked over by pretentious experts zooming down the slopes. You can expect affordable prices, friendly service and the breathtaking views and rugged beauty of Colorado's Grand County and Granby Ranch, only 15 miles north of Winter Park, and a bit south of the gorgeous three lakes district and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Comprised of two separate but interconnected mountains, Solvista's East Mountain has primarily beginner and intermediate terrain, with long, well-groomed runs. West Mountain has mostly intermediate and advanced offerings, providing advanced steeper terrain, bowl skiing and moguls. Some trails are labeled blue-black, a good challenge for intermediates. A separate learn-to-ski/ride area, Bear Bahn Park, is designed to provide a non-intimidating learning atmosphere. Cross country skiers and snowshoers will enjoy SolVista Nordic trail system, which includes 40 km of groomed trails and breathtaking scenery.
