Experience the massive, sometimes snow-covered peaks of the glorious Rocky Mountains at this amazing park that will turn you into an adventurous explorer. Longs Peak, at a staggering 14,259 feet high, is an adventure in itself - even if you see most of it by car! The park boasts more than 60 mountains over 12,000 feet high and Trail Ridge Road, the highest contiguous road in the U.S. at over 12,000 feet. More than a quarter of the park is above treeline. That's some high elevation!
The Rocky Mountains offer visitors a lot of everything: hundreds of lakes and streams, stunning views, lush forests, over 350 miles of hiking trails, and a wide assortment of wildlife, including elk, eagles, bighorn sheep, and coyotes. Camping, fishing along the lakes, and, of course, scaling the mammoth peaks are all popular activities for which the park is famed.
