Things to do / Travel Guide
In mountainous regions, there is generally a wide variation between daytime and nighttime temperatures. The eastern Colorado and Wyoming Rockies are no exception. This difference is most pronounced in the summer, when the days are hot and mostly clear, but the nights are cool and sometimes feature cloudy weather. Winters, on the other hand are full of clear, cool, crisp, and snowy days and nights, while windy blizzards can occur anytime.
The best times to visit this region are in the shoulder seasons of spring and fall, when the skies are generally bright blue, clear, and sunny. Spring, in particular, is legendary for pristine skiing conditions in the resorts around mile-high Denver as well as the rest of the Rocky Mountains.
